https://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FKingmanYachtCenter%2Fposts%2F10159247929905437&title=THE%20BARLOWS%20LANDING%20BOAT%20RAMP%20WILL%20BE%20CLOSED%20%20BEGINNING%20ABOUT%209%2F25%2F17%20FOR%20DREDGING%20OPERATIONS.%20Here%20is%20a%20summary%20by%20the%20town%20of%20the%20projects%20that%20will%20take%20place%20in%20the%20waterways%20and%20waterfront%20commencing%20early%20September.%20%20Due%20to%20activity%20on%20the%20public%20beaches%20and%20waterways%2C%20time%20of%20year%20restrictions%20for%20dredging%2C%20and%20scheduling%20contractors%20and%20other%20participants%2C%20we%20will%20get%20underway%20immediately%20following%20the%20Labor%20Day%20holiday%20weekend.%20%20Some%20people%20will%20be%20disappointed%20with%20the%20timing%20but%20this%20schedule%20was%20designed%20to%20have%20the%20least%20overall%20impact%20on%20beach%20goers%2C%20tourism%2C%20and%20the%20boating%20community.%20%20The%20projects%20will%20have%20the%20most%20adverse%20impact%20on%20the%20commercial%20boat%20haulers.%20%20%20%20The%20first%20project%20will%20be%20DREDGING%20AT%20MONUMENT%20BEACH.%20%20Approximately%20September%205th%2C%20we%20will%20begin%20building%20a%20de-watering%20pit%20on%20the%20public%20swim%20beach%20at%20Monument%20Beach%20...%20The%20beach%20will%20then%20be%20closed%20to%20the%20public%20for%20the%20duration%20of%20the%20project.%20The%20pit%20is%20for%20de-watering%20the%20spoils%20from%20dredging%20where%20the%20new%20boat%20ramp%20will%20go.%20%20We%20will%20also%20be%20doing%20additional%20dredging%20in%20the%20channel%20leading%20up%20to%20the%20Toby%20Island%20bridge.%20%20%20We%20have%20to%20dredge%20the%20location%20of%20the%20new%20boat%20ramp%20prior%20to%20construction.%20%20The%20actual%20dredging%20should%20take%20less%20than%205%20days%20....Construction%20on%20the%20new%20ramp%20should%20begin%20before%20the%20end%20of%20September.%20%20It%20will%20take%203-4%20months.%20%20All%20construction%20will%20take%20place%20within%20a%20cofferdam.%20%20Concrete%20will%20be%20poured%20in%20place%20...%20The%20dinghy%20rack%20closest%20to%20the%20existing%20boat%20ramp%20will%20be%20removed%20prior%20to%20construction%20and%20relocated%20next%20spring.%20%20Those%20permitted%20to%20use%20that%20rack%20have%20been%20advised%20to%20use%20empty%20spots%20on%20the%20rack%20closest%20to%20the%20facilities%20building%20for%20the%20remainder%20of%20the%20boating%20season%20...%20Once%20the%20dredge%20mobilizes%20and%20heads%20to%20Barlows%20Landing%2C%20the%20existing%20ramp%20will%20be%20available%20until%20the%20contractor%20brings%20in%20the%20construction%20barge%20and%20other%20equipment%20for%20the%20new%20ramp%20which%20will%20hopefully%20be%20by%20the%20end%20of%20September.BARLOWS%20LANDING%20WILL%20BE%20DREDGED%20after%20Monument%20Beach.%20%20We%20did%20not%20have%20a%20window%20to%20dredge%20because%20of%20overlapping%20%20time%20of%20year%20restrictions%20for%20Winter%20Flounder%20and%20Diamondback%20Terrapins.%20%20We%20were%20given%20a%20waiver%20and%20permission%20to%20dredge%20from%20October%201-14.%20%20The%20dredging%20in%20Barlows%20is%20twofold%2C%20maintenance%20dredging%20of%20the%20channel%20and%20dredging%20where%20the%20new%20dinghy%20dock%20will%20go%20...%20%20We%20will%20begin%20construction%20of%20the%20de-watering%20pit%20at%20Barlows%20hopefully%20sometime%20during%20the%20week%20of%20September%2025th.%20%20At%20this%20time%20the%20boat%20ramp%20and%20the%20public%20beach%20will%20be%20closed%20for%20the%20season%20for%20all%20intents%20and%20purposes%20...%20Patrons%20of%20the%20existing%20dinghy%20dock%20will%20be%20%20notified%20they%20need%20to%20remove%20their%20boats%20from%20the%20dock%20by%20September%2017.%20%20We%20don%E2%80%99t%20expect%20the%20dredging%2Fbeach%20nourishment%20project%20to%20be%20completed%20until%20the%20end%20of%20October.%20%20We%20are%20in%20the%20process%20of%20notifying%20boat%20haulers%2C%20mooring%20permit%20holders%2C%20and%20the%20general%20public%20that%20once%20construction%20of%20the%20pit%20starts%20the%20boat%20ramp%20will%20be%20closed%20for%20launching%20and%20hauling.%20Barlows%20landing%20is%20the%20only%20ramp%20on%20the%20south%20side%20that%20can%20accommodate%20deep%20draft%20vessels.%20%20We%20understand%20this%20will%20be%20a%20substantial%20inconvenience%20for%20some%20folks%20but%20due%20to%20the%20time%20of%20year%20restrictions%20on%20dredging%20there%20was%20no%20alternative.%20%20We%20will%20allow%20vessels%20with%20town%20of%20Bourne%20mooring%20permits%20to%20haul%20their%20vessels%20out%20at%20the%20Taylor%20Point%20Marina%20one%20time%20free%20of%20charge.%20These%20vessels%20must%20have%20a%20town%20of%20Bourne%20mooring%20sticker%20affixed%20to%20their%20boat.%20%20Every%20Bourne%20mooring%20permit%20holder%2C%20customers%20of%20Monument%20Beach%20Marina%2C%20Pocasset%20River%20Marina%2C%20%20Taylor%20Point%20Marina%2C%20Kingman%20Yacht%20Center%2C%20Barlow%E2%80%99s%20Boat%20Yard%2C%20and%20Parker%E2%80%99s%20were%20issued%20mooring%20permit%20stickers.%20%20They%20will%20be%20eligible%20to%20haul%20out%20their%20boat%20for%20the%20season%20free%20of%20charge%20at%20Taylor%20Point%20Marina.%20If%20Mass%20DEP%20processes%20our%20application%20for%20the%20proposed%20new%20dinghy%20dock%20by%20late%20winter%2Fearly%20spring%2C%20%20we%20%20will%20%20get%20the%20new%20dock%20project%20out%20to%20bid%20and%20installed%20by%20June%201%20or%20thereabouts.%20%20%20Any%20moorings%20at%20either%20of%20the%20dredge%20locations%20that%20will%20interfere%20with%20the%20operation%20of%20the%20dredging%20equipment%20or%20will%20otherwise%20impede%20the%20projects%20will%20be%20temporarily%20relocated.%20%20Upon%20completion%20of%20the%20project%28s%29%20the%20moorings%20will%20be%20placed%20back%20in%20their%20original%20location%20or%20a%20different%20location%20as%20close%20to%20the%20original%20as%20practical.%20%20A%20few%20of%20the%20moorings%20may%20be%20in%20close%20proximity%20to%20the%20new%20structures%20and%20placement%20of%20the%20moorings%20will%20need%20to%20be%20adjusted%20accordingly.%20%20%20The%20town%20will%20contract%20with%20a%20mooring%20Installer%20to%20complete%20this%20phase%20of%20the%20project.%20%20There%20will%20be%20no%20cost%20to%20mooring%20permit%20holders.%20%20%20I%20think%20this%20addresses%20the%20bulk%20of%20the%20impacts.%20%20I%E2%80%99m%20sure%20there%20will%20be%20more%20questions%20and%20concerns.%20%20Inquiries%20should%20be%20directed%20to%20me%20at%20508-759-0600%20ext%201312%20or%20my%20email%20at%20tmullen%40townofbourne.com.%20%20Tim%20MullenBourne%20Director%20of%20Natural%20Resources24%20Perry%20Avenue%2C%20Room%20102Buzzards%20Bay%2C%20MA%2002532508-759-0600%20%20ext%201312%20...%20See%20MoreSee%20Less

mailto:?subject=Facebook&body=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FKingmanYachtCenter%2Fposts%2F10159247929905437%20-%20THE%20BARLOWS%20LANDING%20BOAT%20RAMP%20WILL%20BE%20CLOSED%20%20BEGINNING%20ABOUT%209%2F25%2F17%20FOR%20DREDGING%20OPERATIONS.%20Here%20is%20a%20summary%20by%20the%20town%20of%20the%20projects%20that%20will%20take%20place%20in%20the%20waterways%20and%20waterfront%20commencing%20early%20September.%20%20Due%20to%20activity%20on%20the%20public%20beaches%20and%20waterways%2C%20time%20of%20year%20restrictions%20for%20dredging%2C%20and%20scheduling%20contractors%20and%20other%20participants%2C%20we%20will%20get%20underway%20immediately%20following%20the%20Labor%20Day%20holiday%20weekend.%20%20Some%20people%20will%20be%20disappointed%20with%20the%20timing%20but%20this%20schedule%20was%20designed%20to%20have%20the%20least%20overall%20impact%20on%20beach%20goers%2C%20tourism%2C%20and%20the%20boating%20community.%20%20The%20projects%20will%20have%20the%20most%20adverse%20impact%20on%20the%20commercial%20boat%20haulers.%20%20%20%20The%20first%20project%20will%20be%20DREDGING%20AT%20MONUMENT%20BEACH.%20%20Approximately%20September%205th%2C%20we%20will%20begin%20building%20a%20de-watering%20pit%20on%20the%20public%20swim%20beach%20at%20Monument%20Beach%20...%20The%20beach%20will%20then%20be%20closed%20to%20the%20public%20for%20the%20duration%20of%20the%20project.%20The%20pit%20is%20for%20de-watering%20the%20spoils%20from%20dredging%20where%20the%20new%20boat%20ramp%20will%20go.%20%20We%20will%20also%20be%20doing%20additional%20dredging%20in%20the%20channel%20leading%20up%20to%20the%20Toby%20Island%20bridge.%20%20%20We%20have%20to%20dredge%20the%20location%20of%20the%20new%20boat%20ramp%20prior%20to%20construction.%20%20The%20actual%20dredging%20should%20take%20less%20than%205%20days%20....Construction%20on%20the%20new%20ramp%20should%20begin%20before%20the%20end%20of%20September.%20%20It%20will%20take%203-4%20months.%20%20All%20construction%20will%20take%20place%20within%20a%20cofferdam.%20%20Concrete%20will%20be%20poured%20in%20place%20...%20The%20dinghy%20rack%20closest%20to%20the%20existing%20boat%20ramp%20will%20be%20removed%20prior%20to%20construction%20and%20relocated%20next%20spring.%20%20Those%20permitted%20to%20use%20that%20rack%20have%20been%20advised%20to%20use%20empty%20spots%20on%20the%20rack%20closest%20to%20the%20facilities%20building%20for%20the%20remainder%20of%20the%20boating%20season%20...%20Once%20the%20dredge%20mobilizes%20and%20heads%20to%20Barlows%20Landing%2C%20the%20existing%20ramp%20will%20be%20available%20until%20the%20contractor%20brings%20in%20the%20construction%20barge%20and%20other%20equipment%20for%20the%20new%20ramp%20which%20will%20hopefully%20be%20by%20the%20end%20of%20September.BARLOWS%20LANDING%20WILL%20BE%20DREDGED%20after%20Monument%20Beach.%20%20We%20did%20not%20have%20a%20window%20to%20dredge%20because%20of%20overlapping%20%20time%20of%20year%20restrictions%20for%20Winter%20Flounder%20and%20Diamondback%20Terrapins.%20%20We%20were%20given%20a%20waiver%20and%20permission%20to%20dredge%20from%20October%201-14.%20%20The%20dredging%20in%20Barlows%20is%20twofold%2C%20maintenance%20dredging%20of%20the%20channel%20and%20dredging%20where%20the%20new%20dinghy%20dock%20will%20go%20...%20%20We%20will%20begin%20construction%20of%20the%20de-watering%20pit%20at%20Barlows%20hopefully%20sometime%20during%20the%20week%20of%20September%2025th.%20%20At%20this%20time%20the%20boat%20ramp%20and%20the%20public%20beach%20will%20be%20closed%20for%20the%20season%20for%20all%20intents%20and%20purposes%20...%20Patrons%20of%20the%20existing%20dinghy%20dock%20will%20be%20%20notified%20they%20need%20to%20remove%20their%20boats%20from%20the%20dock%20by%20September%2017.%20%20We%20don%E2%80%99t%20expect%20the%20dredging%2Fbeach%20nourishment%20project%20to%20be%20completed%20until%20the%20end%20of%20October.%20%20We%20are%20in%20the%20process%20of%20notifying%20boat%20haulers%2C%20mooring%20permit%20holders%2C%20and%20the%20general%20public%20that%20once%20construction%20of%20the%20pit%20starts%20the%20boat%20ramp%20will%20be%20closed%20for%20launching%20and%20hauling.%20Barlows%20landing%20is%20the%20only%20ramp%20on%20the%20south%20side%20that%20can%20accommodate%20deep%20draft%20vessels.%20%20We%20understand%20this%20will%20be%20a%20substantial%20inconvenience%20for%20some%20folks%20but%20due%20to%20the%20time%20of%20year%20restrictions%20on%20dredging%20there%20was%20no%20alternative.%20%20We%20will%20allow%20vessels%20with%20town%20of%20Bourne%20mooring%20permits%20to%20haul%20their%20vessels%20out%20at%20the%20Taylor%20Point%20Marina%20one%20time%20free%20of%20charge.%20These%20vessels%20must%20have%20a%20town%20of%20Bourne%20mooring%20sticker%20affixed%20to%20their%20boat.%20%20Every%20Bourne%20mooring%20permit%20holder%2C%20customers%20of%20Monument%20Beach%20Marina%2C%20Pocasset%20River%20Marina%2C%20%20Taylor%20Point%20Marina%2C%20Kingman%20Yacht%20Center%2C%20Barlow%E2%80%99s%20Boat%20Yar
